MOLINE, ILLINOIS (March 15, 2023) — The Black Box Theatre in downtown Moline is bringing the penny-dreadful The Mystery of Irma Vep by Charles Ludlam to their stage April 13-22. Shows are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 7:30PM, and the first Sunday at 2PM.

MOLINE, ILLINOIS (February 20, 2023) — The Black Box Theatre is holding auditions for their next two shows on February 25, 12-3PM. Actors will be asked to read from the script. Actor/Singers prepare a classic Broadway tune and you will read from the script. These are open auditions. Everyone one is welcome.

MOLINE, ILLINOIS (January 18, 2023) — The downtown Moline Black Box Theatre presents Lauren Gunderson’s play Natural Shocks. Based on Hamlet's “To be or not to be,” Natural Shocks is a one-act tour-de-force that bursts to life when we meet a woman waiting out an imminent tornado in her basement. Angela, our fast-talking heroine, overflows with quirks, stories, and a final secret that puts the reality of guns in America in your very lap.

MOLINE, ILLINOIS (November 11, 2022) — In September 2022, The Black Box Theatre performed My Brother’s Gift, as a part of the Out of Darkness: Holocaust Messages for Today initiative. The play is based on the remarkable, true story of Heinz Geiringer, neighbor and friend of Anne Frank. The production will air on WQPT on November 17, 8PM, and will be followed by a short documentary on the Anne Frank Exhibit in Danville, Iowa.

MOLINE, ILLINOIS (August 2, 2022) — “Ride the Cyclone” is here. The area premiere of the quirky musical takes a bow on August 11 at the downtown Moline theatre. “In this hilarious and outlandish story, the lives of six teenagers from a Canadian chamber choir are cut short in a freak accident aboard a roller-coaster. When they awake in limbo, a mechanical fortune-teller invites each to tell a story to win a prize like no other — the chance to return to life.”

MOLINE, ILLINOIS (April 25, 2022) The Black Box Theatre is excited to bring two premieres to the area. Auditions for Ride the Cyclone and All is Calm will take place in May.

MOLINE, ILLINOIS (March 31, 2022) — The Black Box Theatre located in downtown Moline opens the thriller, Veronica’s Room by Ira Levin. “Most people know Ira Levin for Rosemary’s Baby, and Veronica’s Room is just as thrilling,” said director Lora Adams.
