DES MOINES, IOWA (April 29, 2021) This week, the city of Davenport hosted a session where they unveiled options being considered to ease or mitigate future flooding from the Mississippi River. The city has been considering flood-response options since the historical flooding in 2019.

DES MOINES, IOWA (April 29, 2021) — The number of initial unemployment claims in Iowa, filed between Sunday, April 18, and Saturday, April 24, was 3,893, a decrease of 3,088 from last week’s adjusted numbers. There were 3,494 initial claims by individuals who work and live in Iowa, and 399 claims by individuals who work in Iowa and live in another state.

AMES, IOWA (April 28, 2021) — Valentine Chenus of Davenport, Iowa, volunteered as a member of the Earth Day Planning Committee, the group responsible for the planning and implementation of a variety of tasks required for the Earth Day event, including publicity and logistics. Event attendees engaged in Earth Day pledges, clothing donations, free bike tune-ups, and learned about University and community organizations committed to sustainability.
