DES MOINES, IOWA (September 11, 2026) — The Iowa Finance Authority (IFA) announced Merle Hay Plaza and Apartments, proposed by Gratus Development, as the winner of the 2026 Federal Housing Tax Credit Innovation Set-Aside Competition. The project will transform underutilized space at Merle Hay Mall into affordable housing for seniors, creating new opportunities for seniors to age in place with convenient access to everyday services and amenities.

Elite Casino Resorts Properties Raise Funds to End Alzheimer’s in 2026

Knox College Welcomes New Students from 35 States and 16 Countries

GALESBURG, ILLINOIS (September 11, 2026) — Knox College rolled out the purple and gold carpet on Tuesday, September 8, to welcome 285 new students to campus and begin the 2026-27 academic year. The College's newest students consist of 240 first-years and 45 transfers. Included in newest members of the Prairie Fire family are 34 international students, 110 student-athletes, and 126 domestic students of color.

MetroLINK, in partnership with the City of East Moline Public Library, has installed two (2) Level 3, public facing, fast charging stations at the City of East Moline Public Library.

The charging stations can charge up to four electric vehicles simultaneously, charging each vehicle in just under an hour.

Western Illinois University Autism Clinic of Excellence Receives $45,000 Grant from Tracy Family Foundation

MACOMB/MOLINE, ILLINOIS (September 10, 2026) — Western Illinois University’s Autism Clinic of Excellence (WACE) has received a $45,000 grant from the Tracy Family Foundation through its Annual Cycle Grants Program.

The program funds non-profit organizations serving Illinois counties including Adams, Brown, Cass, Greene, Hancock, McDonough, Morgan, Pike, Schuyler, and Scott.

The Tracy Family Foundation has been a foundational partner in supporting WACE operations since 2024.
