DAVENPORT, IA (March 28, 2016) – Senior Star at Elmore Place is pleased to welcome the Quad City Symphony Orchestra (QCSO) to its senior living community for a musical performance at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 31 at 4502 Elmore Avenue, Davenport.  Guest soloists performing with the orchestra will be Dr. Erik Rohde, violin and Dr. Jacob Tews, viola.

Director of String Activities and Orchestra at Indiana State University, Rohde maintains a diverse career as a conductor, violinist and educator, and has performed in recitals and festivals across the United States and Europe.  In addition to his work at Indiana State, Rohde is the founding artistic director of the Community School of the Arts Youth Orchestra, based in Terre Haute, IN.

Tews is Visiting Assistant Professor of Violin/Viola and Conductor of the Wartburg Community Symphony Orchestra at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa.  Currently, Tews performs as Principal Viola of the Waterloo/Cedar Falls Symphony, and has played in the viola sections of a number of regional orchestras, including serving leadership roles in the Illinois Symphony, Paducah Symphony, Southern Illinois Music Festival and Southern Illinois Symphony orchestras.

Tews and Rohde comprise the contemporary music duo, sonic apricity.
