DAVENPORT, IOWA - Bereskin Fine Art Gallery and Studio will celebrate Women's History Month with an exclusive show highlighting the work of five regional female artists from March 2-30, 2016.
Artists featured in the exhibit include ceramic artist Karen Brinson of Bettendorf, painter Kay McClure Crain of St. Louis, mixed media artist Heidi Hernandez of Davenport, contemporary nature artist Jacki Olsen of Rock Island, and sculptural paper artist Dawn Wohlford-Metallo of Bettendorf.
The importance of women's voices in the arts cannot be overstated, says gallery owner Pat Bereskin. "Though all of the artists in the show utilize different mediums and address different themes, their work is united by the lens of womanhood," Bereskin said. She hopes the month-long showcase will address the void left by Venus Envy, the recently-defunct annual showcase of women in the visual arts.
The public is invited to view the exhibit during Bereskin Fine Art Gallery's regular operating hours, Wednesday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Lectures by the artists throughout the month are free and open to the public. Go to www.bereskinartgallery.com for a schedule of events and appearances.

Bereskin Fine Art Gallery is located at 225 E. 2nd St., Suites 102 and 104, Davenport, Iowa, 52801. For more information, contact owner Pat Bereskin at 563-508-4630.
