Today, in conjunction with the Scott County Fire Chief’s Association, my office requested that the State Fire Marshall lift the ban on open burning, currently in effect for all of Scott County. The burn ban will expire today at 5:00p.m.

Please remember that many communities in Scott County have other burn ordinances that remain in effect. This action does not affect local laws and rules regarding open burning.
