The Center For Active Seniors, Inc. has been awarded National Accreditation through the National Council on Aging (NCOA). NCOA’s National Institute of Senior Centers (NISC) offers the only National Senior Center Accreditation Program in the country. Only 200 senior centers have met the standards of excellence that are being used to set the bar for senior programs and services in the United States. CASI will become only the second senior center in Iowa to receive this recognition.
For over 40 years, CASI has served as Eastern Iowa’s only comprehensive Senior Center and securing National Accreditation reinforces CASI’s commitment to area seniors and the QC community,” said CASI President/CEO Laura Kopp.
Maureen O’Leary, Program Manager with NCOA and NISC said the following of the CASI application: “It was very well organized and a pleasure to review. Your team should be very proud of the work they submitted.”
What does this mean for the QC?
CASI joins an elite group of Quad City area accredited services including; the Davenport Police Department, the Davenport Fire Department, Davenport Public Works and Medic EMS. And for QC seniors, it means that they will be served by the best the area has to offer.
