Rock Island, IL/January, 2016 – The Arc of the Quad Cities Area, one of the Quad Cities largest social services organizations and dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, announces the retirement of its top leadership after 36 years of dedicated service. Executive Director, Kyle R. Rick, is set to retire in July 2016.

To advance the rights of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, Kyle joined The Arc as a Program Coordinator at the Opportunity Center in 1979. She then moved on to various other positions at The Arc such as Activity Supervisor, Resident Program Director and Administrator of Long Term Care Services. Her keen interest in the details without losing sight of the whole picture has assisted her in various management positions. She earned her MBA from St. Ambrose University in 1999. Kyle has served as Associate Executive Director of Residential Services, and Associate Executive Director of Administration Services and CFO where she oversaw efforts to widen the financial base of The Arc of the Quad Cities. She has been Executive Director since 2006.

Kyle Rick has been a dedicated servant to The Arc for more than three decades and we are truly sad to see her retire. Her passion and devotion to The Arc will continue to be an inspiration. We are sure we can speak for all colleagues and families Kyle helped throughout her career; by saying it is an extraordinary privilege having Kyle in our lives. The Arc’s Board of Directors would like to use this opportunity to express our gratitude for her dedication and her outstanding services for The Arc. While we are sad to see her go, we wish her all the best for this new chapter of her life. Kyle, you will be truly missed. Thank you for everything you have done!

“It has truly been an honor to be part of an organization that has had such a profound impact on the Quad City community for over three decades,” says Rick. “The work of The Arc of the Quad Cities Area serves a critical role in making the Quad Cities a more supportive place for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.”

In addition, The Arc announces its search for someone with an ardent dedication and passion for helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to fill the position as Executive Director of The Arc of the Quad Cities Area. If you feel you can help us continue to make this kind of a difference or if you know somebody with the same kind of dedication, please contact The Arc’s Human Resources Department at 309.786.6474 or visit arcqca.org for more information.
