Celebrations Open to All

Iowa City, Nov. 3, 2016 – Get ready for a delicious holiday season at New Pi’s Local Holiday Sample Fairs this Sunday, Nov. 6, at New Pi Cedar Rapids and next Sunday, Nov. 13, at New Pi Coralville, both from 11AM-2PM. Stop in for free samples of New Pi’s house-made Thanksgiving meals and samples from local farmers and producers – everyone’s invited to join in the celebration!

New Pi is introducing online ordering for their ready-to-heat Thanksgiving meals for the first time this year, with orders taken at www.newpi.coop through Wednesday, Nov. 16. Local turkeys can also be reserved through their website – fresh, frozen, or organic (the only store in town stocking fresh – never frozen – and organic turkeys) – while supplies last. The grocery store is also offering special holiday wine deals, through their website only, as well.

New Pi works with over 136 local producers throughout the year, and they come together to pull out all the (local) stops for the holidays. From local organic sweet potatoes from Organic Greens in New Pi’s sweet potato pies and cakes to local free-range turkey in New Pi’s ready-to-heat holiday meals, it’s a local Thanksgiving at New Pi. Meet some of the many local producers whose ingredients go into New Pi’s prepared foods at this Sunday’s free sampling at New Pi Cedar Rapids, 11AM-2PM.

New Pi Coralville will also host a tasting the following Sunday, Nov. 13, 11AM-2PM – stop in to meet over 20 of New Pi’s local suppliers and enjoy good eats and sweet beats – there’ll be both food and music, too! Everyone’s invited to enjoy free tastings of New Pi’s house-made holiday meals, taste varieties of local squash to find their favorites, and local goods from Thanksgiving meals with local beer and hard & soft cider to pure Iowa maple cream, ice cream, eggnog, and pies, along with great vinyl spun by DJ Gordon Gartrell.

Get to know the area’s local winter offerings and discover how to set a holiday table with fantastic local fare at New Pi before the guests start knocking. Enjoy great deals during both events at all New Pi stores!
