Rock Island, IL - May 12, 2016: The new PrairieCat library catalog, which contains more than 5 million library items from 135 library members, goes live Tuesday, May 17 at eight Illinois Quad City area public libraries, including Rock Island Public Library.

To help patrons learn about new features and new ways to find items, all locations of the Rock Island Public Library will be offering drop-in "Get to Know the New Catalog" times. Library staff will be standing by to offer hands-on tips on the new online  catalog, including how to opt into text alerts, limit searches, check a patron library account, use new online fine and fee pay options, and use integrated Novelist Select functions to see related titles, authors and series information.

Drop-in sessions will be offered at Rock Island Main Library at 401 19th Street, Rock Island 30/31 Branch, 3059 30th Street, and Rock Island Southwest Branch, 9010 Ridgewood Road from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm on Wednesday, May 18, and from 10:00 am to noon on Thursday, May 19. No appointment is necessary.
