Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley made the following statement regarding the Supreme Court’s ruling to keep in place the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal’s ruling that halted the Obama administration’s implementation of its deferred action plan.

“The Supreme Court’s decision that keeps in place the Fifth Circuit ruling is a win for the American people and especially American workers.  It underscores the rule of law and the system of government set up by the founding fathers.  I agree that our immigration system must be revamped, but circumventing Congress and attempting to rewrite the immigration laws simply because you don’t get your way is unlawful and contrary to the checks and balances so carefully crafted in the Constitution.”
