Prescribed Films will be holding open casting calls for their new feature film to be shot this summer, “Gnats!”.
Sunday May 29th - Robert A. Lee Recreation Center, Room A (220 S Gilbert St, Iowa City) 1-7pm
Saturday June 4th - Anomaly Gallery (105 N Court St, Ottumwa) Noon-5pm
Sunday June 5th - Java Joes (214 4th St, Des Moines) 8am-noon

Headshots and resumes are encouraged, but not required.

Filming is tentatively scheduled to begin July 2nd. Filming will continue primarily on weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) throughout July and August. Most filming will take place in or around Ottumwa, IA.

All cast and crew roles are volunteer only. While roles are unpaid, cast and crew can expect the film to be screened at multiple film festivals with a strong push for sale and distribution.

ABOUT THE FILM:

Plain Falls, Iowa is known for its abundant corn harvest, level headed farmers, and family recreation areas, but this summer tents will be replaced with body bags as this sleepy Midwestern town is besieged by a deadly menace. A group of somewhat motivated people must find a way to first try to see this menace, and then reluctantly draw straws on who will step up to deal with bloodthirsty rampaging GNATS!

MEN’S ROLES: There are at least 22 various men’s roles. Many roles for men in their late teens to early twenties, as well as several roles for men in their 30’s, 40’s, and 50’s.

WOMEN’S ROLES: There are at least 11 various women’s roles too. Mostly late teen to early twenties, with three roles for women in their 30’s and 40’s.

EXTRAS: There are many roles for any and all ages! So there is a possible place for everyone.
