MOLINE, ILLINOIS – WQPT and Fourth Wall Films took home Second Place in Public Affairs at the Iowa Broadcast News Association award ceremony on April 23 in Waterloo, Iowa for their documentary “Letters Home to Hero Street.”

“We are thrilled that the documentary continues to resonate with so many people,” said co-producer Lora Adams.

The film has won a Silver at the 2015 Cedar Rapids Independent Film Festival as well as the People’s Choice Award at the festival. It was also nominated for a Mid-America Emmy, and the Second Place Public Affairs from IBNA.  Lesson plans were created for the documentary and are now part of PBS LearningMedia, allowing classrooms across America to learn about the Hero Street 8 at www.pbslearningmedia.org.
