Marion, IA – The Grill Works, a locally owned grill specialty store in Marion, will be holding a Rib Cook Off on Sunday, October 9, as a fundraiser for Camp Courageous.

Ribs for the contest on Sunday, are being prepared on Green Mountain Wood Pellet Grills, the most popular brand of grill sold by The Grill Works.

“We have had many customers asking for a local contest in which they can compete,” said Brian Gilliatt, who owns The Grill Works with his wife Lisa. “Grilling and smoking is so much more than a method of cooking, it is a passion for so many! This event allows the backyard novice to compete in a friendly competition complete with cash prizes and trophies.”

The public is invited to sample the ribs, while they last, and to vote for the people’s choice winner through cash donations to Camp Courageous placed in the donation jars located at each particpant’s station. Judging begins at 4PM, with prizes being awarded at 5PM.

Anyone looking for some good BBQ won’t go away hungry! BAMBQ BBQ Crew will be serving their award winning BBQ all day at the event!
