Northeast Iowa's own Lissie opens for the pop rock trio

DECORAH, Iowa—Critically acclaimed pop rock band Parachute will perform at Luther College in the Regents Center Saturday, Nov. 19. Concert doors open at 7 p.m. with featured performer Lissie starting the show at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets for the performance are $25 can be purchased online at tickets.luther.edu or via the Luther Ticket Office, (563) 387-1357 or boxoffice@luther.edu. The Ticket Office is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9-10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.-3 p.m.; Tuesday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.; with extended hours on Thursdays, 9 a.m.-7 p.m.

Childhood friends, Will Anderson, lead vocals, guitar; Johnny Stubblefield, drums; and Christopher "Kit" French, saxophone, keyboards, started the band in high school, and have been making music together ever since. The trio has released four studio albums since 2009 and has toured with Kelly Clarkson, The Goo Goo Dolls, Andy Grammar and many more.

Parachute recently released their fourth full-length album titled; "Wide Awake." Led by hit single, "Without You," this album reclaimed the spirit that first sparked their love for music. On "Wide Awake," Anderson says, "Making this record just felt like that one hour after school as kids. It was like we were all 15 again and starting to discover that excitement of all creating songs together."

These Charlottesville, Virginia, natives began their "Wide Awake" tour in March 2016 and look forward to bringing this renewed energy to Luther in November. Parachute's indelibly melodic sound packs more than enough power to electrify an arena-filled crowd and will certainly have the Regents Center rocking.

Singer/songwriter Lissie began touring in 2008 when she opened for Lenny Kravitz during his Love Revolution Tour and she released her third studio album "My Wild West" in February. Originally from Rock Island, Illinois, Lissie is a recent transplant to Northeast Iowa after spending 10 years out west in Colorado and California. Bookended by the songs

"Hollywood" and "Ojai," "My Wild West" represents both a new beginning and a return to Lissie's Midwestern roots.
