MOLINE, Ill. (February 2, 2015) - The Quad City Mallards have acquired forward Anthony Collins from the South Carolina Stingrays in exchange for future considerations, the Mallards announced today.
Collins, 25, picked up two assists and collected 68 penalty minutes in 19 games with the Stingrays this season.
Collins split last season between South Carolina and the Southern Professional Hockey League's Mississippi Surge. The 6' 4", 215-pound Surrey, British Columbia, native notched four assists and piled up 109 penalty minutes in 32 ECHL games last year and scored two goals and added four assists while recording 130 penalty minutes in 35 games with Mississippi.
Collins played junior hockey in the British Columbia, Kootenay International, Manitoba and Saskatchewan leagues and also for Thompson Rivers University before turning professional.
The Mallards return to action tomorrow night on the road against the Missouri Mavericks. The Mallards next play at home Friday night at 7:05 p.m. against the Wichita Thunder.

The Mallards have partnered with Metro to provide transit service between Augustana College and downtown Moline during all Friday home games. Students can catch the Route 10 on campus via 7th Avenue to and from games, with the Route 10 dropping students off near campus or in the District after games. Students can then take the Route 53 from the District back to Augustana until 3 a.m. As part of Metro's unlimited ride program, Augustana riders can use their Augustana ID as their fare.
