The Metropolitan Opera's Emmy and Peabody Award-winning series of live performance transmissions returns to more than 650 select U.S. cinemas this fall with the ninth season of "The Met: Live in HD." The season begins on Saturday, October 11 with Verdi's "Macbeth," starring Anna Netrebko and ?eljko Lu?i? and will feature 10 live and 10 encore presentations through April 2015. All performances will broadcast on Saturdays with encore performances exhibited on select Wednesdays immediately following the respective live event at 6:30 p.m. local time (see the press release below for details).

Met opera stars serve as hosts for the HD series conducting live interviews with cast, crew members and production teams. They introduce the popular behind-the-scenes exclusive features during intermission, giving the audience an unprecedented look at what goes into the staging of an opera.
