AMANA, Iowa- Come to the Amana Colonies for a Fall Antiquing Open House October 21st through the 23rd with 13 great shops to pick. The open house features vintage to folk art to primitives to mid century modern, and everything in between. There is amazing selection from all of the 13 shops in the seven villages that make up the Amana Colonies. The shops are housed in early brick, stone or clapboard buildings and decorated for the season.

 

A trip to the Amana Colonies in the Fall is truly a great time, in addition to the Open House; the Amana Colonies are also hosting The Modern Collector's Market.  This show is located at the Amana R V Park Event Center at corner of Hwy 151 and 220 Trail. Hours are Oct 21st, 5 to 8 pm early bird admission $20.00 featuring wine, beer, and a hor d’oeuvres bar. October 22nd hours are 9am to 4 pm and October 23rd from 10 am to 4 pm with a $4.00 admission both days.

 

Only 20 minutes away a third antiquing event will take place on Sunday October 23rd as the 60th Midwest Antique & Art/Collector’s Eye in Cedar Rapids at Hawkeye Downs takes place. The hours are 10 am to 4 pm with an $8.00 admission. This show features 100 dealers from all over the country and is a premier show for the area.
