IA/IL QUAD CITIES – The eleven Rotary Clubs of the Quad-Cities have joined to sponsor “Service for Success,” a project to help kids in the community. At the event, they will assemble 20,000 meals for the Kids Against Hunger program. It will take place 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Thurs., Oct. 13, at the Rogalski Center, St. Ambrose University in Davenport, IA.

The event is also designed for anyone interested in learning more about Rotary International. Members of the public can meet Rotarians from both sides of the river dedicated to serving others in our community and worldwide. The evening will consist of:

  • Service Project: packing bags for Kids Against Hunger.
  • Brief overview of Rotary.
  • Appetizers and hosted keg beer, with cash bar available.
  • Opportunities to network.
“RiverBend Food Bank will distribute the meals to local needy families,” said Gary Loss, President of the Davenport Rotary Club. “In addition to feeding the hungry, one of our goals with this event is to let the community know what the Rotary is all about, which is serving our community as well as the world with international projects. We believe in service above self and helping others when we can. Hopefully visitors to this event will want to become members.”

The cost for Rotarians to attend is $10, and guests, students and the general public are free. Registration by Oct. 11, 2016, is encouraged.
