29 & 30Jan16 Battle of Bridges Contest Registration Open:
9th Annual Battle of the Bridge Contest Registration is NOW OPEN! Friday, January 29th and Saturday, January 30th at The Putnam Museum for ALL AGES including families, with 2-4 people per team. The event has capacity for 40 teams per day (80 total).  Details and register:

STEM Scholarship Applications Open:
High School Seniors going into STEM-Related fields of Study: Applications for 2016 QCESC Scholarships are due January 22, 2016. Last year, 12 scholarships were awarded for a total of $20,500.  Details and applications at

AWARD Nominations are due January 29th: QCESC awards pay tribute and recognize Engineering and Science Professionals whose exceptional achievements and outstanding contributions have made a lasting impact on technology, society, and their profession. This includes helping to promote and raise the awareness of STEM (Engineering, Science, Technology, and Mathematics) education and careers in our local communities including in our schools. Nominations open in six categories including for Engineer, Scientist, and STEM Teacher of the Year. If you know someone worthy of recognition, please submit a nomination 

QCESC Banquet, 25Feb16 at John Deere World Headquarters
Save the Date: The 54th Annual Banquet of the Quad City Engineering & Science Council will be held on Thursday, February 25th at John Deere's Worldwide Headquarters. Supporting the event, we are seeking STEM related displays, donations for the silent auction and donations from companies and organizations supporting our STEM Scholarships.    Details and registration for attending will be forthcoming .  http://www.qcesc.org/Banquet/banquet.htm

13Jan STEM Teachers Night Out Moved to 2Mar16
The date for the last planned STEM Teachers Night Out event for the school year has been moved from 13Jan to 2March.  The event will be hosted at Pleasant Valley High School and will include a tour of their new STEM classrooms which are scheduled to be completed prior to the meeting.  Further information including to pre-register for the free event at:  http://www.qcesc.org/qcesc_teachers.html#STEM_Teachers_Night_Out
Results & Photos - December FIRST LEGO League & FLLJr Events
Results including 1,000+ pictures from the Quad City FIRST LEGO League (FLL) & FIRST LEGO League Junior events are now available.  Over the 3 days 114 total teams participated with 82 FLL teams and 32 FLL Junior Teams supported by 150+ volunteers with an estimated total attendance of over 2,300 people.
