The 30th season of the Quad City Wind Ensemble concludes Sunday May 1st at 3:00pm in the Galvin Fine Arts Center, 518 W. Locust St, Davenport, on the St. Ambrose University campus.  The QCWE is conducted by Brian L. Hughes, 2015 winner of the American Prize in Wind Band Conducting (school and community division).

The concert will be free for all attendees, thanks to a gift from the family of Colleen Kannenberg. The Board of the QCWE encourages the Quad City community to attend this concert in memory of Colleen and her love of music and the QCWE.

The Spring Concert features 2016 Charles B. DCamp Young Performer’s Competition winner Jacy Betzel, trumpet, from United Township High School. Betzel will be performing Carnival of Venice with the QCWE. Additional Competition winners Karlaina Bunn, alto saxophone (North Scott High School) and Zoe Replinger, trumpet (Rock Island High School) will also be recognized.  Free will donations will be accepted for future work of the QCWE.

Founded in 1987 by Dr. Charles B. DCamp of St. Ambrose University, the Quad City Wind Ensemble (QCWE) has become one of the finest adult bands in the nation. With an annual series of full ensemble and chamber music concerts, the QCWE has also performed at the annual conventions of the Iowa Bandmasters Association and the Illinois Music Educators Association.   For additional information, please visit www.qcwindensemble.org, or http://www.facebook.com/qcwindensemble
