Bettendorf, IA, May 27, 2016 – Rivermont Collegiate is proud to announce that junior, Manasa Pagadala, placed second nationally in the Junior Science and Humanities Symposium (JSHS), a national research competition sponsored by the U.S. Department of Defense and administered by the University of Iowa. Dr. Leslie Flynn, a professor at the University of Iowa and the Iowa Regional Director for JSHS, traveled to Rivermont on Thursday, 5/26/2016 to present Manasa with her National 2nd Place medal and certificate in Chemistry. “Second place nationally is the highest an Iowa student has ever finished in the 54 years of the program!” said Dr. Flynn. Manasa also received $8,000 and an additional $1,500 for her Iowa finish.
