Davenport Junior Theater
DJT is one of our most popular programs! Don't wait until January toregister or your class will be full! We have Dance and Theatre classes for kids ages 3 - 18. Theatre classes include Acting, Improv, Broadway, Creative Theatre Fun (3-4 year olds), and more! Dance classes include Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Poms Dance Team and Lyrical. School Out Days
Need something FUN for your kids to do when school is not in session? We have school out days for all ages. Elementary age students can attend either the River's Edge or Roosevelt Community Center. Days will be filled with playing games, doing crafts,
taking field trips and spending time with friends. Intermediate age students will attend Collins House and days will be focused on exploring future career options and helping engage youth in volunteerism. Program will run from 7:30 am - 5:30 pm. Each student should bring a water bottle and sack lunch, wear socks and gym shoes, and bring warm clothes to skate! Afternoon snacks will be provided.

Wine 101
Learn the basics of wine at this fun tasting class. We will sample a dozen different styles of wines from sweet to dry while discussing wine fundamentals including terminology; choosing, storing, and serving a wine; food parings and more. Don't be intimidated. This class is all about learning to trust your own taste buds.
Class includes cheese, crackers and other palate cleansers so have a light dinner before class. You can do all this for $20.
Class will be held at Camp McClellan Cellars - 2302 E 11th Street, Davenport. You must be 21 years old to participate.
Snowshoe Fun
Come join a winter morning of walking in the snow in Duck Creek Park on January 26th. This park offers a great opportunity to explore along the recreation trail in winter. If there is no snow a nature walk will still take place. Bring a pair of binoculars or borrow one of ours to view some wildlife. Program has a $2 fee, but call Parks and Recreation, 328-7275, to reserve snowshoes. Meet at the shelter at the bottom of the hill. Wear shoes and avoid large/wide boots.
Walk with the Eagles
View the most majestic bird this winter, the Bald Eagle, on January 5th, 2013 at 9am. Meet at the Credit Island Lodge to start our adventure. Bring your binoculars or borrow one of ours to see the eagles and other wildlife. Bring the whole family for some winter fun! Adaptive and Inclusive Programs
The programs below provide recreation opportunities for person with special needs, including those with physical, mental or emotional disabilities. Adaptive and Inclusive programs are offered in structured, success-oriented environments in the areas of
sports and fitness, arts, independent living skills, social activities and special events.
Garden Basics:
Through this class you will learn all about the basic elements that plants need to survive, how to care for them, and help them grow better. We will also have a look at tools, techniques and exciting garden projects. Tues evenings 6pm. prepare to learn, grow and get a little dirty. Meet at the Vander Veer Enabling Garden. Program starts Tuesday January 8th from 6-7pm.
Come spend your afternoon perfecting your drawing skills with good friends! This one time class will take place on Tuesday, January 8th, 2013 from 3:30pm to 5:30pm. The fee will be $20 and will include all required items.
Ju Jitsu for Adults-WINTER-Tues & Thurs 6-8pm RCC
Ju-Jitsu is a mixed martial arts class with a focus on the wrestling side. This program is dedicated to providing quality, safe developmental instruction to meet needs of various levels of participants while improving the participants health and overall wellness. Class strives to teach ideals that will help in work and home life: courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control and indomitable spirit. All instruction is well supervised with the student's safety and enjoyment foremost in mind. This class is for 18 and up. ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST REGISTER TO TAKE PART IN THE CLASS AND SIGN A RELEASE.

Indoor Soccer League: Womens WINTER
Womens Adult League is aimed at athletes over 18 who enjoy soccer, and want to get in some healthy competiton while getting exercise. Try to win it all while having fun!
Game Play is 7 v 7. Games will be on Wednesday evenings from approximately 6pm to 11pm. *The fee is for the entire team, only the captain needs to register*
Indoor Soccer League: High School Boys WINTER
This league is for boys currently in high school. Athletes will play using the whole turf field for full sided games. The games will field 7v7 competition with a cap of 15 per roster. Games will be played on Friday Evenings starting at 5:30 pm.
Tai Chi 101
Tai Chi Ch'uan translates as "The Grand Ultimate." The Grand Ultimate is the study of "Chi" otherwise defined as inner strength or energy; both your own and others. The study of Tai Chi generate a natural state of euphoria without the use of drugs, alcohol, hypnosis or other unnatural and unhealthy means. With this particular study of Tai Chi, one will learn what affects the individual Chi, how to gain more of it, how to use one's Chi and how to balance it.

Duck Creek Golf Course remains open throughout the winter season. When there is snow on the ground, the course is open for cross country skiing. No snow means the fairways are open for golf. Check with the clubhouse for the status of the course.

Indoor Golf Range at The River's Edge
Don't forget our indoor golf range is now open! A large bucket of balls is only $5, and hours are generally:
Mon - Fri, 7:00am - 3:00pm
We will be closed New Year's Day, and the golf range will close at 11:30am while school is out. Call The River's Edge at 563-328-PARK (7275) for more information.
