(CEDAR RAPIDS, IA) – The African American Museum of Iowa invites the public to the unveiling of new additions to their permanent exhibit, “Endless Possibilities.” The open house will take place on June 30, from 5:00pm-7:00pm. Patrons will enjoy free refreshments, selfie stations, free admission, and guided introductions of the exhibit’s new additions by museum staff.

With new panels and interactive features, “Endless Possibilities” has more ways than ever to experience Iowa's African American heritage. Come and make a discovery in George Washington Carver's Lab, or enjoy an oral history in the Haywood Belle Oral History Nook. The new panels feature Iowa legends like Simon Estes, Dr. Percy Harris, and Ivory Winston.

This event is free and open to the public.

This project was completed in collaboration with Split Rock Studios and Preston & Crist Exhibit Design & Construction.

The museum would like to thank all the donors and sponsors who made this expansion possible.
