Churches United of the Quad City Area is very thankful to the Amy Helpenstell Foundation for a $15,000.00 grant, in support of Winnie’s Place, our emergency shelter for women (with or without children) in the Quad Cities who are homeless and/or victims of domestic violence. In addition to shelter, Winnie’s Place offers counseling, advocacy, and education in life skills, so that these women can look forward to a more successful future for themselves and their children.

The mission of The Amy Helpenstell Foundation Fund is to improve the quality of life in the Quad Cities area by funding educational programs and by funding grants for health, community development, youth development, and cultural activities.

Churches United has a 55-year history of reaching out to our community. As well as Winnie’s Place, Churches United also operates 25 food pantries and 3 hot meal sites. Help Keep the Reader Alive and Free Since '93!

"We're the River Cities' Reader, and we've kept the Quad Cities' only independently owned newspaper alive and free since 1993.

So please help the Reader keep going with your one-time, monthly, or annual support. With your financial support the Reader can continue providing uncensored, non-scripted, and independent journalism alongside the Quad Cities' area's most comprehensive cultural coverage." - Todd McGreevy, Publisher
