University of Dubuque Jazz Ensemble Presents Legends

 

 

DUBUQUE, Iowa – The University of Dubuque Jazz Ensemble will present Legends on Wednesday, Oct. 26, at 7:30 p.m. in Heritage Center’s John and Alice Butler Hall. The concert, presented by the University’s Department of Fine and Performing Arts, will feature student jazz musicians under the direction of Nicholas Bratcher, director of instrumental music at UD.

The Jazz Ensemble, in preparation for their upcoming spring tour, will perform selections from fallen artists from the jazz and popular music genres. The concert will feature a standard big band instrumentation and a student vocalist.

DUBUQUE, Iowa – The University of Dubuque Wind Ensemble will present Something Borrowed on Wednesday, Oct. 19, at 7:30 p.m. in Heritage Center’s John and Alice Butler Hall. The concert, presented by the University’s Department of Fine and Performing Arts, will feature musicians from the Wind Ensemble under the direction of Nicholas Bratcher, director of instrumental music at UD.

Something Borrowed will feature selections not originally written for wind band but tastefully transcribed for a wonderful concert experience. The concert will also feature several selections from the UD Chamber Ensembles and guest clarinetist Kenneth Northcutt.
