The Wesley United Methodist Church Youth Choirs will be going on Choir Tour 2016 June 12 – June 19, 2016. This year’s tour titled “Fix My Eyes” will feature an eclectic mix of traditional, gospel, contemporary, and praise music.
The group will tour and present concerts in Iowa, Nebraska, Colorado, and Illinois. The tour group will travel nearly 2,000 miles during the eight day trip.

There are three groups traveling together on the tour. The Jubilation Choir is made up of 40 students ranging in age from 11 – 23. The Exaltation Choir is an ensemble of high school and college students. The Celebration Ringers are a handbell choir of junior high and high school students. Between the three groups, they provide music each year in more than 30 worship services and special events at Wesley United Methodist Church and in the community of Bloomington, Illinois.
Wesley Choir Tour 2016 is led by Adria Schumann. Adria has been Director of Music Ministries at Wesley United Methodist Church in Bloomington, Illinois since 1996. Prior to becoming the church’s full-time Director of Music Ministries, she was Wesley’s Children’s Choir Director beginning in 1992. Adria is a graduate of Mt. Vernon Nazarene University in Mt. Vernon, Ohio.
While the choir is on tour, the trip can be followed through an online blog. Several students will update the site, complete with photos, as they travel each day. The blog can be accessed through Wesley’s website, www.wesley-umc.com.
Wesley United Methodist Church Choir Tour 2016 seeks to share challenging and inspiring music with a strong message of faith and hope as they travel the United States. As much as the group enjoys sharing our music with the people they meet, they most especially like getting to connect and meet new people as they share their message.
