Friendship Force of the Quad Cities (FFQC) will host the Friendship Force International Midwest – Great Lakes Regional Conference April 28 – May 1, 2016 at the Holiday Inn and Suites, Davenport, IA.
The conference theme “Building Bridges with Friendship,” was chosen because the Quad Cities has many bridges built across the mighty Mississippi River to connect people in Iowa with people in Illinois. The bridges make the Quad Cities successful. Even the mighty Mississippi is no barrier for the determination and persistence of the people who live in the Quad Cities area.
The new President/CEO of Friendship Force International, Mr. Jeremi Snook is coming up from Atlanta, Georgia, as the keynote speaker. On behalf of all the communities, Davenport Mayor Frank Klipsch will help open the Conference at the Welcome Ceremonies on Friday, April 29, along with Adrienne Moen, Friendship Force Midwest Regional Representative (Greater Des Moines, IA) and Conference Planning Co-Chairman, Eldon Greiman (FFQC, LeClaire, IA).
This year the regional conference combines members of clubs from two different regions: the Midwest Region and the Great Lakes Region. This special event is expected to seat more than 100 members from 19 Friendship Force clubs, from nine different states. Not only will the attendees learn how to bridge the past and the future, they will establish new working relationships to learn to build a stronger communities of friends around the world, reducing barriers that lead to understanding and peace.
According to Adrienne Moen. FF Midwest Field Representative (Greater Des Moines, IA), “It certainly is exciting to combine these two Regions for such an important event where we meet to learn, share our ideas, successes, and become motivated to make our individual clubs stronger through synergy. This year we will be meeting our new President/CEO, Jeremi Snook, and anxiously listening to his assessment and forecasting of our organization. We are experiencing a variety of changes which creates both excitement and challenge. (This conference)… provides the vehicle toward an innovative, successful future.”
