On January 12th from 9:00am – 12:00pm Braking Traffik will be displaying an Awareness Table at the Rock Island Courthouse. The courthouse is located at 1504 Third Ave. Rock Island, IL 61201.

On January 26th at noon the Rock Island Police Department will host a Lunch and Learn. The Rock Island Police Department is located at 1212 5th Ave, Rock Island, IL 61201.

The purpose of these events is to educate the public on the signs of human trafficking and learn how to respond in an effective manner.

“Combatting human trafficking must be a collaborative effort to be successful. It takes everyone in the community working together to ensure this horrific crime, which denies our most basic rights of human dignity and freedom, does not continue to go unreported due to lack of awareness,” said Braking Traffik Director, Cathy O’Keeffe.

To learn more about local services offered and how you can get involved in the anti-trafficking movement please join Family Resources staff and other community leaders at one of the various events being held.
