At United Neighbors, Inc. (UNI) our mission is to provide community members with the tools that they need to become self-sustaining individuals who make our community a better place. We accomplish this by providing youth programs and housing counseling to low/moderate income individuals in Scott County, Iowa.

On Saturday August 19, 2017 UNI will host our 1st Annual Quad Cities Sunshine Festival which will offer free and low cost, eclectic, and community oriented fun for all. We want to make our community a brighter place by joining together in celebration of diversity. When we come together strategically we can truly make our community a better place. We want our participants to feel safe and enjoy themselves with a full spectrum of people.

The festival will feature several events: 1) talent show, 2) live music, 3) hot dog eating contest, 4) huge school supply giveaway, and 5) community yard sale, just to name a few. The community we serve needs fun and safe events like this to allow everyone to join together harmoniously.

Help Keep the Reader Alive and Free Since '93!

"We're the River Cities' Reader, and we've kept the Quad Cities' only independently owned newspaper alive and free since 1993.

So please help the Reader keep going with your one-time, monthly, or annual support. With your financial support the Reader can continue providing uncensored, non-scripted, and independent journalism alongside the Quad Cities' area's most comprehensive cultural coverage." - Todd McGreevy, Publisher
