Better health and well-being is on the horizon for area seniors.

The Jackson Renaissance is hosting a senior health fair on Tuesday, September 19th from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.  Highlighting this free event is a collection of popular vendors including Milestones Area Agency on Aging, Scott County Health Department, McDonough Hospital, Genesis VNA & Hospice, Davenport Parks & Rec, The Bath Company, Golden Dreams Homecare, Healing Hearts, Main at Locust Medical Supply and many more. Scott County Humane Society will be at the fair with adorable, adoptable pets!

Fourth ward Alderman Ray Ambrose, a supporter of Quad City seniors will join attendees.

Fair attendees will have access to a variety of valuable health related information and giveaways in the form of discount coupons, product or on-site services such free blood pressure checks and spinal screenings. The Quad Cities Food Hub will be there with local fresh produce bargains, and there will be free refreshments and a variety of door prizes. The grand prize winner will get to choose from 2 tickets for a Riverboat Cruise or Circa 21 Dinner Theater.

The Jackson Renaissance is the former Jackson School, which closed in 1943. The building was brought back to life by Chicago developer The Renaissance Companies, and re-opened in 2013. Visitors will have an opportunity to see the beautiful renovation of an 1890’s schoolhouse that has now become home to many area seniors.

Seniors, family members and caregivers are invited to attend this free event, located at 1420 W. 16th Street in Davenport. (Street parking).
