Representative Prichard: ‘I’m Endorsing Fred For Two Simple Reasons: He Would Make An Outstanding Governor For All Iowans, Rural And Urban, And I Know Fred Can Win In November And Deliver The Real Results Our State Desperately Needs.’

Today, October 21, in the latest sign of momentum for Fred Hubbell’s campaign for Iowa governor, Representative Todd Prichard of Charles City, a former Democratic gubernatorial candidate, announced his support of Fred in the Democratic primary. He joins a growing list of 38 current and former legislators to endorse Fred's campaign.

First elected in 2013, Representative Prichard represents District 52, encompassing Floyd, Chickasaw, and part of Cerro Gordo counties. He serves as the Ranking Member on the House Agriculture Committee and is a member of the Natural Resources, Veteran Affairs, and Ways and Means committees and the Agriculture and Natural Resources Appropriations subcommittee. Prichard is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army Reserve, starting his military service in 1996, and has been overseas five times, including a tour in Iraq.

"I’m endorsing Fred for two simple reasons: he would make an outstanding governor for all Iowans, rural and urban, and I know Fred can win in November and deliver the real results our state desperately needs," said former gubernatorial candidate Representative Todd Prichard. "I ran for governor because I strongly felt our state was headed in the wrong direction under Kim Reynolds' disastrous leadership, and I believed I was someone who could bring together both rural and urban Iowa. I wholeheartedly support Fred because I know he is the only candidate who can do the same, and has the right vision to actually get our state back on track. I am proud to be with Fred and urge all Democrats to join us as well, uniting behind the right candidate who can win in 2018. I am very excited to be on Team Hubbell and ready to get to work."

“I am very honored to have Representative Prichard’s support, and have his help making sure our campaign touches every corner and lifts up every Iowan, rural and urban, by putting people first,” said Fred Hubbell. “He will be a vital resource advising on rural issues, agriculture, and veterans issues, given his wide expertise as a leader in the legislature and service in the Army. Representative Prichard is a leader who shares our vision to get Iowa growing and we look forward to working very closely in the months ahead.”
