DES MOINES, IOWA (May 8, 2019) — Iowa Democratic Party Chair Troy Price released the following statement after Governor Kim Reynolds signed legislation to insert political influence in Iowa’s judicial nominating process:

By signing this legislation, Gov Reynolds showed us that she cares more about the future of her political agenda than working families. The overwhelming majority of Iowans don't want to politicize our courts by giving lawmakers more control over the judicial nominating process. We’ve seen enough of this Administration’s show to know that Reynolds and the GOP legislature are changing the rules to make it easier to enforce their corporate agenda — no matter the cost to Iowans’ rights.”
