MOLINE, ILLINOIS (June 14, 2019) — The local non-profit, Dress for Success, has been impacted by the recent flooding in downtown Davenport. Due to the loss of almost half of their clothing stock, The Moline Foundation will be assisting in their “Staying Afloat Clothing Drive.”
Starting Monday, June 17, to Friday, June 28, The Moline Foundation will be collecting new or gently used business casual pant suits, dresses, separates, shoes, accessories, and handbags. Spring/summer clothing-items may be dropped off at The Moline Foundation offices in downtown Moline, 1601 River Drive, Suite 210, in the RiverStation building which also houses Bass Street Chophouse. Drop-off hours are 8AM-4:30PM with a special drop-off time on Wednesday, June 19, 5-7PM. A wine-and-cheese reception hosted by The Moline Foundation will serve as a thank-you to generous donors bringing in clothing items.
Since 2013, Dress for Success has empowered women and helped them achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire, and the development-tools necessary to help women thrive in their work and personal lives.
The Moline Foundation has supported Dress for Success with grants in the past six years to help achieve their programmatic goals.
The Moline Foundation, founded in 1953, is a community foundation which provides grants to health, human services, education, community development, the arts, and other charitable organizations which benefit the citizens of Moline and the surrounding area. The Moline Foundation serves Rock Island, Henry, Mercer, Warren, Henderson, and McDonough counties in western Illinois, and Scott County in eastern Iowa.
