DAVENPORT, IOWA (September 26, 2019) — Gilda’s Club is hosting a free workshop titled “Pain Management Workshop” on Tuesday, October 15, 11:30AM–12:30PM at Gilda’s Club (1234 East River Drive, Davenport, IA).

Join Dr Sayed Shah MD from Mandala Integrative Medicine for a workshop about cancer-pain management.

Dr Shah will talk about different ways to manage pain, including information about cannabis. We will discuss:

  • Myths and misconceptions about cannabis;
  • The Endocannabinoid system in our body and how cannabis works in the body;
  • How cannabis helps with pain, nausea, vomiting, appetite, depression, and anxiety;
  • How it can help prevent some side effects of chemotherapy;
  • The anticancer effects of cannabis; and
  • How cannabis use can reduce or stop usage of opioids.

Feel free to bring a sack lunch to enjoy during the presentation.
