BETTENDORF, IOWA (January 16, 2020) — As candidates step up their final campaigning headed into the 2020 Iowa Caucus, Scott County Democrats are hosting their annual Red, White, and Blue dinner on Saturday, January 25, in Bettendorf. Democratic candidates and elected officials are expected to attend and give remarks. Former Governor and First Lady Tom and Christie Vilsack, Representative Dave Loebsack, and Davenport Mayor Mike Matson will be in attendance.
“Eastern Iowans are fortunate that the final major multi-candidate event before the February 3 Iowa Caucus is taking place in the Quad Cities,” said Elesha Gayman, Chair of the Scott Democrats. “This is a unique opportunity for Democrats to hear from this stellar field of candidates one last time before they make their final choice 9 days later in the 2020 Iowa Caucus.”
The annual Red, White, and Blue dinner is the major fundraiser for the Scott County Democrats. Proceeds are used to support Democrat candidates for office at all levels through increased voter registration, boosting voter turnout as well as supporting efforts to communicate with Democrats across Scott County.
“I strongly encourage all Democrats to take this opportunity to meet and listen to the candidates in what is the most important election of our lifetime,” said Troy Price, Chair of the Iowa Democrats. “I’ll be there.”
