DES MOINES, IOWA (June 7, 2024) — Chase Oliver returns to Capital City Pridefest in Des Moines this weekend to kick off his presidential race as the Libertarian nominee for president.

“I am excited to be in the heartland of America to celebrate Capital City Pride in Des Moines, Iowa,” says Oliver, 38. Last year, he became the first third-party presidential candidate to speak at the Iowa Soapbox, and he placed first in Iowa’s first Libertarian presidential primary.

“The power of self-expression, bodily autonomy, and individualism are libertarian values that resonate with LGBTQ people across the nation and I'm ready to celebrate those values with the LGBTQ Iowans from across the state.”

Oliver and running mate Mike ter Maat were nominated as the Libertarian candidates for president and vice president on Sunday, May 26, at the Libertarian National Convention in Washington.

Oliver became the first Libertarian presidential candidate to campaign in all fifty states, and is the only candidate in the 2024 field to do so.
