HUNTINGTON, WEST VIRGINIA (May 16, 2025) — Marshall University has officially announced the launch of a national search for its next athletic director, engaging with CarrSports Consulting, a firm with deep expertise in collegiate athletics executive searches, to lead the process. The goal is to identify and appoint a new athletic director within sixty days of launching the search.

“The role of athletic director is crucial to the continued success of Marshall Athletics and our university community,” said Marshall University President Brad D Smith. “We are committed to finding a bold, forward-thinking leader who will build on our proud traditions and drive us into the future with innovation and excellence.”

The university has appointed an eleven-member search committee to oversee the process and advance a slate of finalists.

Marshall University Chief of Staff Ginny Painter will chair the committee.
