DAVENPORT, IOWA (May 27, 2025) — Volunteers are needed to greet riders at twelve landmarks on the Island. These interactive stops are:

  • Mississippi River Visitor Center
  • 1856 Bridge Pier
  • Colonel Davenport House
  • Quarters One
  • Rock Island Arsenal Museum
  • New Golf Pro Shop
  • Memorial Park and Field
  • September 11 Memorial
  • Grave of T J Rodman
  • RI Confederate Cemetery
  • Hydroelectric Power Dam
  • Clock Tower Building

We need volunteers to add stars to each rider’s license plate at each iconic landmark; those riders with the most stars are eligible for prizes at the end of the day. We have three-hour shifts.

Expect to learn about the history of the Island and the US Army when you volunteer on Sunday, Father’s Day, June 15, 8AM-3:30PM. Maps and directions will be sent to each volunteer with information on parking and how to pick up a volunteer t-shirt.

To sign up as a volunteer go to riveraction.org/volunteer.
