DAVENPORT, IOWA (May 27, 2025) — Volunteers are needed to greet riders at twelve landmarks on the Island. These interactive stops are:
- Mississippi River Visitor Center
- 1856 Bridge Pier
- Colonel Davenport House
- Quarters One
- Rock Island Arsenal Museum
- New Golf Pro Shop
- Memorial Park and Field
- September 11 Memorial
- Grave of T J Rodman
- RI Confederate Cemetery
- Hydroelectric Power Dam
- Clock Tower Building
We need volunteers to add stars to each rider’s license plate at each iconic landmark; those riders with the most stars are eligible for prizes at the end of the day. We have three-hour shifts.
Expect to learn about the history of the Island and the US Army when you volunteer on Sunday, Father’s Day, June 15, 8AM-3:30PM. Maps and directions will be sent to each volunteer with information on parking and how to pick up a volunteer t-shirt.
