DES MOINES, IOWA (November 12, 2025) — Governor Kim Reynolds has issued a statement on the United States Congress voting to pass a continuing resolution, reopening the federal government after the longest shutdown in American history.

“I’m grateful to the Senate and House Republicans and the Democrats who joined them in passing an updated continuing resolution to reopen the government.

“For over forty days, Democrats allowed our military, federal employees, and low-income Americans to be used as political leverage. While it should never have gotten to this point, I am relieved the shutdown has ended and that the federal government can resume its essential work on behalf of the American people.”
