Larry the Cable Guy at the Rhythm City Casino Resort Event Center -- March 21.

Saturday, March 21, 8 p.m.

Rhythm City Casino Resort Event Center, 7077 Elmore Avenue, Davenport IA

With two of his seven comedy albums hitting platinum status and children of all ages adoring him for voicing tow truck Mater in the Disney/Pizer franchise Cars, Blue Collar Comedian Larry the Cable Guy brings his national tour to Davenport's Rhythm City Casino Resort Event Center on March 21, the Billboard Award winner also a bestselling author and co-founder of the non-profit organization The Git-R-Done Foundation.

Born Daniel Lawrence Whitney in 1963, Larry started his career in radio in the early 1990s when he made regular appearances on the nationally syndicated The Ron and Ron Show, as well as other radio shows such as The Bob & Tom Show and Wakin' Up with the Wolf. Initially performing stand-up under his real name with limited success, he became famous after developing the Cable Guy character, a personality that he now maintains throughout his stage act. The Cable Guy has a stereotypical redneck appearance and a thick Southern accent, recounts stories about his "family," and uses, among other common expressions, his own catchphrase "Git-R-Done!" Larry says in interviews and in his autobiographical book Git-r-Done! that he deliberately "turns on" the accent both on and off stage, because he may forget it if he kept his normal voice intact.

Larry's road to stardom included the Blue Collar Comedy Tour, which grossed more than 15 million dollars. The ensemble cast of comedians included Jeff Foxworthy, Ron White, and Bill Engvall, and the tour's success led to Blue Collar Comedy Tour: The Movie, which premiered on Comedy Central in November of 2003 and, at the time, was the highest-rated movie in the channel's history. The comedian's first album release, Lord, I Apologize, reached gold status, selling more than 500,000 copies. The CD was number one on the Billboard Comedy Charts for 15 weeks in a row, while Larry's DVD special Git-R-Done has sold more than 1 million copies and has been certified platinum.

In addition to voicing the lovable Mater in the Cars series, Larry has appeared in Tooth Fairy 2 (2012), Witless Protection (2008), Delta Farce (2007), and his first feature Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector (2006), which, when it was released on DVD that August, more than 1 million copies in the first week of release. He also competed in season six of The Masked Singer as the wild card contestant "Baby," which was the show's first human character. The Git-R-Done Foundation is a non-profit organization established in 2009 by Larry and his wife, Cara, as a focal point for the family's philanthropy. Emphasizing on children's and veteran's causes, The Git-R-Done Foundation has donated to great organizations such as The Arnold Palmer Hospital, Operation Homefront, and Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital. In September 2010, Larry himself donated $5 million to the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in Orlando, Florida.
