ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (September 2, 2026) On September 22, the 67th Honor Flight will leave the Quad Cities International Airport with over eighty veterans on their way to Washington DC to see the memorials built in their honor. This flight is sponsored by Quad Cities, Clinton, and North Scott Hy-Vee stores.
Of special note will be the six veteran women who served the nation with such grace and honor.
Four of these veterans served in the same military unit. One is from Moline, but the other three are traveling from Tennessee, Louisiana and Arizona to join her in this once in a lifetime reunion on an Honor Flight. They will be accompanied by trained “Guardians.” At the Military Women’s Memorial there will be a special honor awaiting all six women.
Other special guests include five Korean War Era Veterans, and Veterans of Viet Nam and the Cold War.
The people of the Quad Cities are invited to attend the welcome home at the QC International Airport. The plane should arrive at 9:30PM and parking is free.
To be placed on our waiting list, all Veterans must submit an application along with their DD-214, DD-256, or NGB-22. Applications may be found at our website: honorflightqc.org. Near the bottom of the page are the words “Veteran Application.”
Click on those words and download the application.
Then send the completed application to the address shown on the form.
We also will need volunteers who would like to be a Guardian (especially those with medical experience) and spend a wonderful and unforgettable day with a veteran as they both fly to DC. We strongly encourage adults of the area to consider this opportunity. More details and guardian applications are available at our website at honorflightqc.org.
