Hailed by Saving Country Music as "dreamy, vibey, vintage, yet wildly resonant and relevant to as wide of an audience as possible," singer/songwriter Ella Langley plays Moline's Vibrant Arena at the MARK on September 26 in support of her April release Dandelion, the artist's chart-topping sophomore album whose top-five Billboard hits include “Be Her,” “I Can't Love You Anymore” (with Morgan Wallen) and number-one smash “Choosin' Texas.”
Born in Hope Hull, Alabama, in 1999, Langley released her debut EP, Excuse the Mess, in May of 2023, and the artist's full-length debut studio album Hungover debuted in August of 2024, hitting number 77 on the Billboard 200 and number 11 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart. After the release of the deluxe edition, Still Hungover, that November, the album re-entered the Billboard 200 at number 49. Among several promotional singles, "You Look Like You Love Me," featuring Riley Green, gained significant traction after going viral on TikTok. It became Langley's first entry on the Billboard Hot 100, debuting at number 53 and peaking at number 30 on the Billboard Country Airplay. The song ultimately earned Platinum certification and went to number one, making Langley the only woman in 2024 to achieve this milestone. The second single from the deluxe album, "Weren't for the Wind," became her highest-charting single on the Hot 100 chart, peaking at number 18 and her second country-radio chart-topper. Langley's second duet with Riley Green, "Don't Mind If I Do," was her third country-radio number-one song.
Prior to the arrival of April's Dandelion, Langley released "Never Met Anyone Like You," a collaboration with Hardy, and "Choosin' Texas," co-written and co-produced with Miranda Lambert. "Choosin' Texas" went viral on TikTok and debuted at number 39 on the Billboard Hot 100, Langley's highest debut at the time. The song would go on to become the first by a female artist to reach number one on the Hot 100, Hot Country Songs, and Country Airplay charts all at once. It has spent 19 non-consecutive weeks on top of the Billboard Hot 100, the longest reign among female country singers and for non-holiday chart-toppers. On January 27 of this year, Langley formally announced her second album, Dandelion, which landed on April 10. The album's title track, "Be Her," and "Loving Life Again" were released in promotion for the record, and Dandelion debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200, making it Langley's first number-one album and the largest streaming debut for an album of new country material by a female country primary artist. The second single "Be Her" peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100, being blocked from the top by her own "Choosin' Texas," and making Langley the first female, primarily country artist in history to occupy the top two simultaneously.
