Rockett Mafia at the Rust Belt -- October 10.

Saturday, October 10, 7:30 p.m.

The Rust Belt, 533 12th Avenue, East Moline IL

Led by Poison drummer Rikki Rockett, a hard-driving rock outfit comes to East Moline's The Rust Belt on October 10 with the venue debut of Rockett Mafia, the group's current national tour centered around performing the classic Poison: Look What The Cat Dragged In album in it’s entirety.

For years, It had been Ricky Rockett's vision to create a band steeped in 70’s style rock 'n' roll, making each song, original or not, feel like they are all part of one record compilation taken to the stage. On guitar are Stacey Blades, the former L.A. Guns guitarist. and Brandon Gibbs, who fronted Devil City Angels and is part of Joel Hoekstra + Brandon Gibbs Project, Ex-Puddle of Mudd musicians Michael Adams serves as the band's bass player. And, of course, Rockett himself is on drums.

As Rockett said at TheMusicUniverse.com: "“This little band was created to have fun re-imagining, for the most part, 70’s cover songs, but not the usual batch that you’d expect. Wait until you hear some of these songs and you’ll go, ‘Hey, I know that song! I can’t believe they are playing that!’ However, do not discount original material. Brandon and Mick both are powerhouses.

After almost 20 years with Poison, Rockett released his first solo album Glitter 4 Your Soul on January 7, 2003, which was distributed online. It was a tribute to 1970s glam rock. He also guested on Britny Fox's Bite Down Hard (1991). And in April of 2007, the musician announced the creation of Rockett Drum Works Inc. It is a drum manufacturing company, specializing in the creation of ultra custom drum kits, snare drums and custom accessories.

During his tenure with the ghroup, Rockett was part of the most successful incarnation of Poison when it was also composed of lead singer and rhythm guitarist Bret Michaels, bassist Bobby Dall and lead guitarist C.C. DeVille. The band achieved huge commercial success in the mid-1980s through the mid-1990s and sold more than 65 million records and DVDs worldwide. In 2012, VH1 ranked them at No. 1 on their list of the "Top 5 Hair Bands of the '80s.”

Rockett Mafia brings their tour to East Moline on October 10 alongside the special guests of Pick Your Poison, admission to the 7:30 p.m. concert is $17.04-25.11, and more information and tickets are available by visiting TheRustBeltQC.com.
