BETTENDORF, IOWA (September 30, 2026) — Arconic Davenport Works will welcome area students to its Learning Center on Friday, October 2, for a hands-on Manufacturing Day experience designed to introduce young people to the wide range of careers available in modern manufacturing.

The event will be held in two sessions: 9-11AM and 12-2PM, at the Arconic Learning Center in Bettendorf.

Manufacturing Day is celebrated nationally on the first Friday in October and is part of a broader movement to show students, educators, parents, and communities what modern manufacturing looks like and introduce the next generation to career opportunities in the industry.

During the event, students will rotate through interactive stations led by Arconic employees and learn about career paths including metallurgical engineering, maintenance, electrical trades, manufacturing operations, quality, and safety. The experience is intended to give students firsthand exposure to the people, technology, and processes behind modern manufacturing.

“We are excited to open our doors and give students an opportunity to see manufacturing through a different lens,” said Jeff Weida, Vice President of Manufacturing at Arconic Davenport Works and Satellites.

“There is an incredible range of careers available right here in the Quad Cities, from engineering and skilled trades to technology, operations, safety, and so much more. We want students to meet the people doing these jobs, ask questions, get involved in the hands-on activities, and, most importantly, begin to see themselves as part of manufacturing and potentially Arconic’s future.”

Arconic Davenport Works is proud to partner with area schools to provide an experience that connects the classroom with real-world careers and helps expose young minds to the possibilities available in manufacturing right here in the Quad Cities.
