MOLINE, ILLINOIS (October 16, 2026) — A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on Friday, October 30, 2PM, to celebrate the opening of Fatwoods BBQ Smokehouse in downtown Moline.

Owned by Collin Ammerman, Fatwoods BBQ Smokehouse specializes in smoked meats, including ribs, brisket, pulled pork, and chicken, served with homemade sauces. The menu also features starters, sandwiches, sides and desserts.

The restaurant’s name honors Ammerman’s late best friend, Foster Atwood, whose friendship and memory hold a lasting place in his life. Following Foster’s passing, Ammerman chose to carry his friend’s name forward through Fatwoods BBQ Smokehouse, making that tribute a permanent part of the restaurant’s identity. For Ammerman, the name connects his work as a local business-owner with someone he will always remember. As Fatwoods welcomes friends, families and neighbors to downtown Moline, it also keeps Foster’s memory alive through the business built in his honor.

Fatwoods BBQ Smokehouse is open Thursdays through Sundays, serving customers until sold out. Current hours are 4-8PM, Thursdays, and 12-8PM, Friday through Sunday. Customers can follow the restaurant’s Facebook page for weekly hours and updates.

Moline Centre staff, City staff, leadership, members of SSA N° 6, and representatives from Renew Moline will be in attendance.
