DAVENPORT – Scott County Auditor Roxanna Moritz announced today that her office will begin the process for selecting new election equipment to be used beginning in 2017. This equipment will not be used in the upcoming 2016 general election.

Moritz has selected an ad hoc advisory committee to help with this process. Included on this committee are the chairpersons of the Scott County Democratic and Republican parties, County Supervisor Diane Holst, County Administrator Mahesh Sharma, various county technical staff and community members. This committee will meet with vendors for the three new election systems currently approved for use in Iowa on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 in Room 605 of the Scott County Administrative Center. This event will run from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Auditor Moritz will be available to discuss this process and answer questions from the news media at 3:00 p.m.
