Davenport, IA (Jan. 4, 2019) - Once again, the Quad Cities Region has an opportunity to recognize its exceptional scientists, engineers, mathematicians, technologists and educators.

The Quad City Engineering & Science Council (QCESC) is soliciting nominations for its STEM Professionals Awards. Recipients of these awards will be announced at our 57th Annual Banquet, to be held on 21 February 2019 at the Deere & Company World Wide Headquarters in Moline, IL.

These awards pay tribute to engineering and science educators and professionals whose achievements and outstanding contributions have made a lasting impact on STEM (Science, Engineering, Technology, and Mathematics) in the region. Nominations for six awards are being sought to recognize these outstanding individuals.

Chris Cournoyer, state of Iowa Senator-Elect, served as a past President of QCESC. "It has been an honor to be part of the Quad City Engineering & Science Council that pays tribute to our local professionals who have made significant contributions in their field and in our community", said Cournoyer. "These individuals have not only enhanced their chosen profession, they have raised awareness of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math and how these disciplines build leaders who work together to solve real-world problems. I would encourage local businesses and schools to nominate those deserving individuals to be recognized for their efforts to make a positive difference in our communities."

QCESC is a local non-profit organization whose mission is to promote and support STEM professionals, educators and associated societies, and to encourage and support students to study in a STEM field.
