Illinois AFL-CIO Wraps Up 46th Constitutional with an Eye on November Election

ROSEMONT, ILLINOIS (August 1, 2024) — The Illinois AFL-CIO wrapped up its 46th Constitutional Convention at the Crowne Plaza Chicago O’Hare in Rosemont.

Four-hundred delegates asserted their trust in the leadership of IL AFL-CIO President Tim Drea and Secretary-Treasurer Pat Devaney by voting to re-elect President Drea, Secretary-Treasurer Devaney, and the Executive Board to a four-year term.

State Treasurer Roby Smith Seeks Iowans' Help Reuniting Lost Purple Heart

DES MOINES, IOWA (July 31, 2024) — State Treasurer Roby Smith is recognizing National Purple Heart Day by asking for Iowans' help to reunite a Purple Heart held in Great Iowa Treasure Hunt, the State's program for returning lost and unclaimed property. "I don't think I can adequately put into words the magnitude of emotions I felt holding a Purple Heart for the first time," said Smith.

DES MOINES, IOWA (May 30, 2024) — Auditor of State Rob Sand has released a reaudit report on the Bettendorf Community School District (District) for the period July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022. The reaudit was performed at the request of petitioners pursuant to Section 11.6(4)(a)(3) of the Code of Iowa. The petition submitted to the Office of Auditor of State requested a reaudit of the year ended June 30, 2022.
