WEST DES MOINES, IOWA (November 17, 2022) — The Iowa credit union industry is warning Iowans of recent increases in texting scams aimed at stealing personal and financial information. Known as “smishing,” these fraudulent text messages appear to be from a consumer’s financial institution and try to trick them into revealing their account number or other personally identifiable information.

BETTENDORF, IOWA (November 17, 2022) — In 2023, a total of $15,000 in scholarships will be awarded to fifteen Ascentra student members to help offset the costs of attending postsecondary education through a college, university or trade program.

The program includes awards for three different types of students.

DES MOINES, IOWA (November 14, 2022) — Iowa is kicking off its celebration of National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) while also celebrating news that the number of Iowans taking part in apprenticeships has never been higher. New data from the US Department of Labor/Office of Apprenticeship recently revealed that in federal fiscal year 2022, Iowa reached a record level of 9,731 active apprentices and created the highest number of new programs in the country.
